Playa Jaco, Costa Rica – Monday, June 23, 2025. This coming Monday, June 23rd, Playa Jaco will set the stage for Orígenes, an exclusive, invitation-only signature dinner that will bring together a select group of guests for a unique sensory experience. Inspired by the flavors, ingredients, and traditions of Costa Rica’s Pacific region, the evening aims to reconnect diners with the most authentic roots of our culinary identity.
The six-course dinner, carefully crafted and curated, will be led by Chef Marcos Sánchez Vargas, known for his outstanding work in prestigious kitchens both in Costa Rica and abroad. Professionally trained in Europe and Latin America, Sánchez Vargas has made a name for himself as an ambassador of Costa Rican gastronomy at international festivals, establishing himself as one of the most influential voices in the country’s new culinary movement. His concept for Orígenes is a deep dive into the culture of the Central Pacific, featuring seasonal ingredients and contemporary techniques that honor and preserve traditional essence.
“Orígenes was born from the desire to tell stories through flavor. It’s not just a dinner—it’s an invitation to reconnect with our land, our memories, and who we are as a nation,” said Chef Sánchez Vargas.
In addition to the culinary offering, the event will feature artistic performances and a sensorial atmosphere, set in an exclusive Jaco location that will be disclosed only to confirmed guests.
The event aspires to become a high-level cultural platform that celebrates local products, national talent, and experiences that promote conscious gastronomic tourism in the region.
